CHANGING LITTLE LIVES,
ONE CAT AT A TIME

WE HELP YOU TO HELP THEM

The Cattitude Trust is a Public Charitable Trust (NGO) started in 2005 to educate, sensitise and guide people on the specialised needs of cats in every situation - as companion animals, in neighbourhoods and in shelters. We have spent the last 18+ years guiding people on evolved pet care and better treatment options, while also fostering a sense of responsibility in individuals towards the welfare and safety of community cats.

With well over 3000 cats (and many non-cats) rescued, fostered, cared for on the streets, treated, sterilised or sheltered under the Cattitude umbrella, and having helped set up effective adoption platforms, we continue to work for a greater love and understanding of our precious feline friends.

While we don’t have an open rescue shelter, and no longer have the resources to keep taking in cats,

we manage a home for senior cats in Chennai, a place that has provided inspiration for others to follow suit with their rescues. Here, our seniors get to live out their golden years in peace and tranquility, with the best vet care available to them, and a small but dedicated team of caretakers and volunteers making them feel loved and cherished.

Today, with dozens of rescuers doing a wonderful job, and with effective adoption platforms available in the real and virtual world to give rescued animals a better chance in life, the Cattitude Trust is moving more towards creating a sustainable support system for those who help and care for cats, particularly those from lower economic backgrounds.

And no, we really cannot take in ‘unwanted cats’ - our mission is to work towards completely abolishing the very idea.

Support Feeding of Community Cats

Cattitude team members feed and care for many cats and honorary cats in neighbourhoods across Chennai.  We also sponsor feeding/treatment/spay-neuter of cats in the care of less privileged members of our society who bravely struggle to care for their animals.

Sponsor Medical Aid & Welfare of Orphaned Kittens

Whenever possible, Cattitude offers guidance and support to those caring for abandoned new-born kittens. Our generous donors send kitten formula and feeding aids from overseas which we distribute (free of charge) where urgently required. All this is possible as and when funds/resources are available.

Promoting TNR
(Trap Neuter Return)

Wherever possible, Cattitude has undertaken challenging and effective TNR (trap-neuter-return) projects around Chennai. Cat popuations have been stablised in the most humane and effective way in various clubs, institutions, and neighbourhoods across the city. We use the best vets and follow strict safety protocols to ensure the wellbeing of the cats we help. We are desperately in need of generous sponsors to do this on a much larger scale.

CATIZEN FAIRYTAILS

Every cattitude graduate and catizen has their own unique story and personality. We have a senior catizen, Dosa, who moved here all the way from Russia, and many others with equally interesting tales.

ADD 9 LIVES TO YOUR OWN

All donations made to The Cattitude Trust (non-profit) go towards feeding and supporting community cats in Chennai and elsewhere, providing the best veterinary care to injured and sick cats and kittens, as also in helping to sustain our senior cat home. We are constantly in search of ways to enhance and enrich their lives and ensure that beyond good health and safety, they know love and contentment.

We promise to continue raising the bar, working to change attitudes towards cats and their welfare, and creating an ever-widening circle of people who love and understand our feline friends and dedicate themselves to making the world a better place for them.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT
